A FORMAL consultation programme is set to start this month on plans for a wellbeing hub in the west of Alloa progress.
A formal pre-application has been submitted for the development along with a Proposal of Application Notice (PAN) earlier this month.
Ground investigations commenced at the site of the development in the west of Alloa, known as the Pavilions, on a greenfield site off Smithfield Loan, earlier in January.
Risk workshops have also been held with project teams while discussions and preparation have also started on the construction phasing and delivery strategy for the project.
An outline programme for construction is expected by the end of April.
The wellbeing hub, which will be co-located alongside a new Lochies School, will aim to provide spaces for learning, leisure and sport – including swimming pools, sports halls, multipurpose spaces and cafe for socialising as well as a state of the art school for ASN learners.
This second round of consultation events follows the initial round of well attended consultation events where feedback was received from members of this public
The events are on Tuesday, April 16 at Alloa Town Hall from 3pm to 7pm and Thursday, April 18 at Tillicoultry Primary School from 3.30pm to 7pm - they will be staffed by a team including planning consultant, architects, and Clackmannanshire Council Representatives for leisure and education.
There is also a virtual town hall where people can read information in advance of the event; www.eyesiteview.uk/vpc/cc/alloawest-pan
The site also allows people to send their comments on the project at any time that suits them. Comments may be taken on as feedback, helping shape the final proposals that will be submitted to planning later in the year. (An opportunity to make representations to the Clackmannanshire Council Planning Team will exist when a formal planning application is made.)
Further information relating to these proposals can also be obtained from the agent: Neil Gray, Director, Gray Planning & Development Ltd email: neil@grayplanning.co.uk
Those wishing to make comments on the proposals may do so at the above events and/or in writing by email to wellbeinghub@clacks.gov.uk or direct via the website, no later than Friday 26th April 2024.
A report from the consultation events will be prepared to be included with the detailed planning application in the future.
Meanwhile, a co-design group has also met four times since November 2023 to learn about how the project is progressing and to give feedback.
The group is made up of a range of people with lived experience and council teams with sessions themed around topics such as mobility and accessibility features, landscaping and open space design, entrance design and more.
