A PEDESTRIAN who died following a collision on a road between Clacks and Stirling at the weekend has been named by police.
Helen Sinclair, 65, was pronounced dead at the Alloa Road scene following the collision on Sunday, March 3.
The Stirling woman's family has issued a statement via Police Scotland, thanking everyone who offered support in the wake of the tragedy.
They said: “The whole family is devastated following our tragic loss.
“We would like to express thanks to everyone who was there at the incident and gave assistance and to everyone that has sent messages and offered support to us all.
“The family respectfully request privacy at this sad time.”
Officers earlier issued an appeal for information following the incident, which involved a white Volkswagen Tiguan and the 65-year-old near Blackgrange Roundabout on the A907.
The road was closed for around eight hours to allow for an investigation to take place following the collision, which happened around 7.45pm.
The driver of the car was uninjured and enquiries are still ongoing.
Road Policing Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are very much with Helen’s family at this difficult time.
“We’ll continue to support them and keep them updated with our investigation.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has come forward with information so far.
“I’m still keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, has any information about what happened or anyone with dashcam footage of the area around the time.
“Please contact us as soon as possible.”
