A COMMUNITY activity and groups fayre will be held in Dollar next week, for anyone looking to become more active in the new year.
Aimed at people who have set themselves the new year’s resolution of taking up a new sport or hobby, there will be around 30 community groups, activities services and clubs in attendance.
Held at the Hive and Burnside Hall in Dollar, visitors can walk around talking with each of the groups to find one that suits them.
Organised by the Dollar Community Development Trust and Dollar Parish Church, the Join Up in January event will take place on Saturday, January 20 from 10am until 1pm.
Helen Hudd, project officer with the Dollar CDT, said: “Perhaps you’re new to the area, or have recently retired and find that you have time on your hands.
“You may have decided that you’d like to find a new hobby or take up exercise this year. Or if volunteering is something you’re interested in, there will be lots of fantastic volunteer opportunities.
“Whatever your motivation, there will be an activity to suit.”
