A Clackmannanshire animal charity is appealing for information about one of their latest animals.
Mr Monty the cat was found wandering at a farm near Slamannan, unchipped and very thin. He was taken in by The Cats Whiskers on Christmas Eve. The Cats Whiskers started out in Alva, but now has a new shelter in Alloa.
Donna Hingley, trustee for The Cats Whiskers, said: “He’s a wee cracker, it’s a strange one, he’s been somebody’s cat, he loves cuddles. He absolutely loves human beings.
“I honestly did not think he would make it over Christmas, he was in such a poor state.”
Mr Monty’s age has not yet been determined but Donna thinks that he is “about ten years old.”
The charity is currently appealing for information about Monty, and whether or not he has an owner.
“He’ll stay with us until we get him sorted. What we do is he’ll be advertised for about a fortnight, if an owner comes forward, we’ll sort it out with them what’s happened.”

Donna, who has worked in animal protection since 2007 when she started at Cats Protection, said that if Mr Monty has an owner they should come forward if they are worried about the financial cost.
“Just come forward and claim your cat because he’ll get sorted, and we are not going to turn around and say here’s the bill, we’ll just fix the cat.”
The cost of living has impacted animals and their owners, according to the PDSA, 22% of pet owners say that the cost of living crisis has affected how they care for their pet.
Donna added: “This year will be very scary for rescues, and I don’t think the vet bills are going to help it one bit.

“It’s going to be a scary, scary year for small charities like ourselves.”
If anyone has any information about Mr Monty, they can contact the charity on 01259928280 or on their Facebook page.
“He’s so friendly, he’s just an absolute love bug. He just wants to be around people.”
