A MAN has died and a teenager taken to hospital after a three-car crash near Kincardine.
The accident on the A977 road between the village and Kinross happened just after 5pm last Wednesday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, but a 57-year-old man, the driver of a Volkswagen Polo, was pronounced dead.
The 17-year-old male driver of a Peugeot van was taken to Forth Valley Hospital in Larbert for treatment and later released.
The man who was driving the third vehicle, a Mitsubishi, was not injured.
Police closed the road while investigations were carried out. It reopened around 11pm.
Inspector Andrew Thomson said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash or who has any information which may assist us to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was on the road around the time and witnessed the vehicles prior to the crash or who may have dash cam footage which could assist us to contact us.”
