A FORMER Clacks MP has earned a prestigious award for his concrete supply business.
Cartmore Building Supplies, of which Gordon Banks is the director, picked up the Hard Landscaping Display at the Builders Merchant Awards 2023.
Gordon served as the MP for Ochil and South Perthshire between the years of 2005 and 2015 and has since gone on to pick up a number of awards with his business.
This accolade follows on from winning the Builders Merchant Journal award in the same category, cementing Cartmore as the UK’s leading landscape display centre.
“What an achievement,” Gordon added. “We are now regularly winning top UK awards for our landscaping display and retaining this award after last year’s victory is staggering.
“On the back of our success in the Builders Merchant Journal awards in September, we are now recognised throughout the UK as market leaders.
“It’s rewarding to note that efforts of an independent merchant can be recognised when faced with the challenge from large national competitors.
“It shows that you don’t have to be big to be good at what you do.”
Cartmore picked up this award at the ceremony at Westminster Plaza Hotel, London, having opened their award-winning landscape display in May 2021.
They have retained this award for two consecutive years.
Gordon added: “We will continue to grow and innovate at Cartmore and our new Fibo Collect concrete, mortar and screed batching plant is proof of this.
“The fact that our business in Lochgelly is winning UK recognition shows that hard work, innovation, creativity and determination all pay off and we are grateful to the organisers who saw fit to reward us with top spot.”
