A TILLICOULTRY woman has announced her latest book after being crowned the best-selling poet of the past two years.
Donna Ashworth will be publishing her book Wild Hope on September 26 ahead of National Poetry Day.
The 48-year-old was the best-selling poet of 2022 and 2023, outselling big names such as Rupi Kaur and Pam Ayres.
Wild Hope is a new poem collection which is said to help the reader find hope, peace, self-acceptance and inspiration.
Included in this collection are poems such as That Thing You Do, Through the Wringer and Rope Ladder, which Donna attributes to helping us remember that most people in the world are good.
Reflecting on her collection, she said: “My head is a constant fizz of emotions, poetry and prose, so it’s a delight to be able to release those bath-bombs into the world and watch the bubbles travel.
“I believe the right words, at the right time, hold so much power and can bring huge comfort and are vital in these troubled times.”
Donna now lives in the hills of Scotland with her husband and two sons. Her first major success came in 2020 with a poem called History Will Remember When the World Stopped, relating to the Covid pandemic of the time.
This was shared around the world and recognised by the likes of Martin Sheen and Vicky McClure.
Donna’s book will be released on September 26 and will be available in hardback for £12.99.
