A DOLLAR dog trainer has successfully qualified for the final of the Kennel Club International Agility Festival.
Chloe Powling, 17, and her two-year-old Border Collie Cassie, competed in the semi-final on Saturday, August 12 in the Intermediate Kennel Club Starters Cup Agility category.
The teenager and her pet performed excellently, earning themselves a spot in the final at the London International Horse Show in December.
Chloe has been competing in dog agility for nine years now, and said she was delighted with their performance.
“Cassie was amazing,” Chloe said. “She was overall first in the Starters Cup and she won five trophies at the Kennel Club International Agility Festival.”
The festival takes place over four days and is supported by Skinner’s, welcoming dogs of every size, shape and breed.
The tournament attracted skilled competitors from all over the UK to take part in a broad range of categories.
Catherine Guiver, head of events at Kennel Club, said: “Congratulations to all of the winners at this year’s International Agility Festival.
“We look forward to seeing winners of the Starters Cup return to compete at the London International Horse Show in December.
“And well dong to all the dogs and handlers that have competed and shown great skill and confidence in the rings over the last four days.”
The Kennel Club is the largest organisation in the UK devoted to dog health, welfare and training.
