THE Clackmannanshire Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) hosted a visit from a housing minister, in a bid to showcase the work the service does.
Paul McLennan, MSP for East Lothian and Minister for Housing, visited the Alloa-based service on Thursday, August 3 to discuss the various projects at the CAB.
McLennan met the CAB managing director Jonny Miller, who talked him through the housing projects and assistance on offer at the bureau.
Speaking to the Advertiser following the meeting, Jonny said it was a delight for the Scottish Government to choose the Clacks service for the meeting.
He said: “It was good to have somebody from the Scottish Government come and hear about what we offer in regards to general money, financial education and welfare.
“Paul came to our site and it was good for him to see our private tenancy project, our council housing project and how we can help tenants.
“I was asked by somebody at the Scottish Government if we could host it which we were delighted to do.
“He came to see what the CAB does, how it works and what our set up is like. We explained the projects we’ve got and we talked through any issues cropping up.”
The CAB is located down from the Job Centre at Burgh Mews in the town. The service offers advice where it can on a variety of issues.
Anyone wishing to make use of their services can visit the site in person or contact them on 01259 219404.
