CLACKS commuters are being advised to plan ahead as a series of overnight resurfacing works is scheduled to go ahead near Kincardine.
Two nights of roadworks will take place on the A985 east of Longannet Roundabout on Thursday, August 10 for two nights.
During these works, the A985 between Longannet Roundabout and Cairneyhill Roundabout will be closed from 10pm to 6.30am on the nights of August 10 and 11.
A diversion route will be in place via the A977, A907 and A994, adding an estimated 10 miles and 19 minutes to affected journeys.
These works will be carried out by Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s southeast network manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracks, creating safer and smoother journeys for motorists.
“It is essential for the safety of the workforce that we close the carriageway during these works, however, we’ve schedule this during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
Motorists are advised to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website at traffic.gov.scot.
This website will provide up-to-date travel information on routes and allow commuters to set out extra time for their journey.
