THERE was a fine turnout in Kincardine last weekend as the town held its annual gala day.
All those in attendance were treated to beautiful sunny conditions on Saturday, June 17, with families taking in a day to remember.
This year's gala queen, Jade Conway, was joined by ladies in waiting, a maid of honour, two flower girls and page boys in her royal procession.
They led the gala day parade from Station Green through the High Street, looping around Kincardine at Tulliallan school park, where the fair had been set up.
Darren Empson, treasurer at Kincardine Gala Committee, was delighted with the turnout for the day and is already looking ahead to next year.
"It was fantastic," he told the Advertiser. "We had been a little worried about the weather forecast leading up to the gala day, but the whole week was just fantastic.
"We really couldn't have asked for anything better.
"We had gala activities happening all through the week and it was just fantastic from beginning to end.
"We had a shiny new float for our gala queen that was decorated for our royal party.
"We run activities throughout the calendar year, but the gala day is the highlight so we're absolutely looking forward to next year."
The Tulliallan Pipe Band, Boys Brigade and Girls Association Band were on hand to join the royal carriage in the procession, leading the way through the town.
The procession also included scout group members as well as pupils from the nursery and primary school.
"The park was so busy, we had lots of stalls there," Darren added.
"We had performances from the local Boys Brigade and Girls Association Band, the Tulliallan Pipe Band, Alba Performing Arts and Alloa Gymnastics Club – they all held displays for us at the park.
"I'm told we had more in the park this year than last year, which is just brilliant.
"The gala couldn't have been made possible without people helping out so the Gala Committee would like to thank everybody who helped in any way at all."
