DOLLAR will play host to a pipe band competition this weekend.
The event will welcome 44 pipe bands from all across the country featuring 57 performances and 8 Drum Major displays to be held on the grounds of Dollar Academy.
The competition will be held on Saturday, May 20 and will run all day – starting from 9.45am.
The event will close at 5pm with a mass band display.
A range of food and drink options will be available – GM Whyte premium Aberdeen Angus burgers, William Bros brewers, the Pizza Afficionadoughs, Bumble Beans Coffees and Troy-Ann’s Caribbean kitchen, to name a few.
There will be a seated area for older/disabled visitors and the event is wheelchair friendly.
Organisers warn the town centre will be busy during the event as they expect between 2000 and 2500 attendees.
Parking for visiting cars will be on the Newfield immediately behind The Hive.
