PEOPLE are reminded that there will be two further bank holidays this month, with pharmacy and GP opening times altered to take these into account.
The coronation of the King is due to take place on Monday, May 8 and sees the majority of pharmacies in the Wee County closed.
Holm Pharmacy, which has three branches in Clacks, will be open. The two shops in Alva will be open from 9am-1pm, stopping for lunch and then reopening at 2pm-5.30pm for West Johnstone Street and 2.15pm-2.45pm for Stirling Street.
Holm in Menstrie will be open from 9am-5pm throughout. The Central Pharmacy is also open from 9am-6pm on May 8.
Should anyone require assistance during the bank holidays, NHS Inform and the NHS 24 Online app are available to help, without relying on calling 111.
Gail MacGregor, associate director of nursing and operations for NHS, said: “On average, NHS 24 forecast call volumes to increase by 257% on a Monday bank holiday compared to a normal Monday.
“However, we wish to remind people that there are other great resources out there that can provide the same accurate and trusted health advice as calling 111.
“NHS Inform and NHS 24 Online are digital solutions to get the medical help you need quickly and safely without the need to call 111.
“Both have online symptom checkers which cover the most common illnesses and ailments, such as lower back pain, flu-like symptoms or urinary tract infections.
“Should you really need urgent health advice or support, our team at NHS24 along with other colleagues in the NHS are here as always to help.
