RESIDENTS will have the chance to discuss the £16.85million Kincardine Bridge project next week.
Plans involve replacing an 80-metre section of the Category A listed structure and will involve the construction of a temporary two-lane bridge for vehicles and pedestrians alongside the old viaduct.
Balfour Beatty was awarded the contract to carry out the work in February.
A public meeting has now been planned for the village later this month where engineers from the project team will be on hand to explain what is involved and answer any questions raised.
There will also be an animation detailing the plans shown at the event.
Construction activity to replace the southern piled viaduct is estimated to start on site around mid-May and is expected to take between 18 months and two years.
The resulting new structure has been designed to be similar in appearance to the adjacent spans on the original bridge with lamp posts and parapets from the demolished viaduct planned to be reinstated on the new structure.
The public meeting will take place from 6pm on Wednesday, March 29, at Kincardine Community Centre.
