INSPECTORS have praised the “high quality learning” at a Kincardine nursery following a visit in September 2022.

Tulliallan Primary School and nursery class received high scores of good and very good grades across the board, including areas such as learning and securing children’s progress.

Very good is considered to be worth a five on the six-point scale, with excellent being the highest mark.

The report from Education Scotland, submitted after the visit, said: “The school and nursery are very happy and inclusive places for all children and staff.

“Children and staff demonstrate warm, caring and respectful relationships.

“Teachers and practitioners support children to become confident and independent learners."

The report highlighted the relationships between children and staff, noting that children were heavily involved in choosing their own learning model.

It added: “Children are highly involved in planning and leading their learning tasks.

“Teachers and practitioners support children to become confident and independent learners.

“The staff work very well together as a strong team.

“They have very good opportunities for learning together and this leads to high quality learning for children.”

The few areas for improvement highlighted by the report included staff continuing to review targets agreed to support children with additional support needs.

The inspectors also asked the nursery to improve procedures for gathering feedback on what needs to change or improve in the school and make sure these are communicated to parents and children.
