RESIDENTS in the Wee County are being invited to a showcase which is set to highlight the range of mental health supports available to young people.

Hosted by Clackmannanshire Council's Educational Psychology Service, the showcase will take place at Alloa Town Hall on Friday, November 25, from 10am to 3pm.

With a range of partner organisations – such as Wellbeing Scotland, Reachout With Arts in Mind, Inscape Therapies and Kooth – in attendance, the event will be a chance for children and young people, as well as parents and professionals to hear what is available for those aged 5-26.

Cllr Graham Lindsay, spokesperson for education, said: “We know that talking about mental health can sometimes be difficult, but it’s really important that we learn to speak more openly about this subject.

“We are hopeful that giving people the opportunity to come along in person to find out more about the services we have on offer will help them know where they can turn to if they need support to manage their mental health.”

A range of resources are available also available through the Mental Health and Wellbeing in Clackmannanshire online directory.

The site is confidential and those looking for help can access information and support on dealing with anxiety, stress and worry, depression and low mood, suicidal thoughts and more along with an LGBTQA+ section.
