FIRE crews were called out to the Devilla Forest for a second time this week.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent two crews to the area yesterday (Wednesday) to tackle two fires in the wooded area.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 7.54pm on Wednesday, July 20, to reports of a fire in the open at Devilla Forest, near Kincardine.
“Operations Control mobilised two fire appliances and firefighters extinguished two fires each measuring approximately 20 metres by two metres.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
On Monday this week, the SFRS were dispatched to Devilla Forest and tackled a blaze overnight into Tuesday evening.
With the hot weather and the dry conditions, there is an increased fire risk in green areas.
Andrew Clark, regional visitor services manager for Forestry and Land Scotland, said: “SFRS has been called out to Devilla a couple of times to deal with what were thankfully small fires that were dealt with quickly.
"With the recent spell of dry weather and the couple of days of exceptional temperatures, the risk of fires is greater than normal so everyone visiting a woodland needs to take extra care.”
