HEROIN worth an estimated £50,000 has been recovered by police at the weekend on the motorway near Cambusbarron.
Road Policing officers acted on intelligence to stop a Peugeot 207 on the M80 near Cambusbarron, finding 2kg of heroin.
The drugs, worth an estimated street value of £50,000, were recovered at around 11am on Sunday, May 15.
A 30-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman were arrested and charged and were expected to appear at Stirling Sheriff Court on Monday, May 16.
Sergeant Jack Swindells said: “This recovery, and the good work involved from Road Policing officers, shows that criminals may try to evade us, but we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove illegal drugs from our communities.”
