DOZENS of ducks once again dashed down the burn in Dollar with the return of a popular event at the weekend.
Dollar Duck Race went down a treat on Saturday, May 7, with families out in force for the popular annual occasion.
The event was organised by Dollar Community Events, which recently came under the umbrella of Dollar Community Development Trust (DCDT), and even the rain decided to stay away.
Beating 999 others, Michael Proctor's duck was first home and he will be taking home the £30 prize.
Second duck finishing belonged to Catriona Ogilvie for the £20 cash prize, third was Jane Ferguson's for the £10 prize.
Also making the top 10 were Isla Livingstone, Laura Crouch, Gillian Stewart, Sandy Eccles, Morven Harvey, Al Jamel and Keith Carman – they will all be receiving a souvenir duck.
Prizes were given out at The Hive but those who missed it are being asked to contact Dollar Community Development Trust to claim theirs.
Rebecca McFarlane, manager at DCDT, said: “It was Dollar’s first community event of the year this weekend and it turned out to be a great success.”
“The trust would like to thank all the volunteers who helped to make the event such a success," She added. "All funds raised goes to supporting the work of the trust in Dollar.”
The day was rounded off with the usual BBQ at The Hive.
Next for the team will be the much-anticipated Dollar Gala, set to return after a two-year absence.
The event will go ahead on Saturday, June 4, at Market Park from 12noon.
