AN ALVA man has been given more jail time after being searched in prison and found to have an illegal SIM card.
Stephen Millar, formerly of The Glebe, Alva, appeared at Alloa Sheriff Court via video-link from prison where he currently serving a sentence for another matter.
He admitted that on August 26, at HMP Glenochil, he was in possession of an unauthorised mobile phone SIM card.
Depute fiscal Katherine Fraser said the phone containing the SIM card was found during a search of Millar in his cell.
Millar told the court: "I was just using the SIM card to keep in touch with my family."
Sheriff Neil Bowie imposed a four-month jail term to run consecutively to his current term.
