A FORTH VALLEY man's abusive behaviour towards his estranged wife in Tullibody has landed him in court.

Karol Nowakowski, 37, appeared in the dock at Alloa Sheriff Court, on Thursday, July 22, accompanied by a Polish translator.

Nowakowski, of Inverallan Road, Bridge of Allan, admitted that between August 1 and September 26, last year, at Dovecot Road, Tullibody, he engaged in an abusive course of contact against his partner by behaving in a controlling and coercive manner, shouted at her and attempted to contact her by telephone an excessive number of times.

The court was told the couple had been in a relationship from 2005, were married in 2009 and separated in 2019.

Sheriff Pino di Emidio called the behaviour “unpleasant, domineering and coercive”.

He added: “It’s not a crime to argue, but lines were crossed here.”

He imposed a community payback order with one year of supervision, 108 hours of unpaid work and a one-year non-harassment order.
