AN INMATE at HMP Glenochil caused more than £2400 worth of damage in a wrecking spree.
Reece Knowles trashed furniture units when serving a sentence at the Clacks prison.
Knowles, , appeared via video-link from jail for a sentencing hearing at Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday, Jun 3.
The 24-year-old, formerly of Rosyth, but more recently living in Valley Gardens, Kirkcaldy, admitted that on December 15, 2019, at HMP Glenochil, he damaged property by striking various items of furniture.
A repair bill totalling at £2444 was detailed to the court.
He also admitted that on May 2 this year, at Seafield View, Kirkcaldy, he shouted, swore, acted aggressively and made threats to damage property.
Depute fiscal Robbie McDougall said that at 4am police had been asked to attend Seafield View on another matter.
When there, the officers discovered there was an outstanding warrant for Knowles and he was arrested.
As he was handcuffed and led away, Knowles was shouting about a female being "a f****** grass" and that he was going to smash her windows when he got out.
Defence solicitor Larissa Milligan conceded: "He's got an unenviable record for someone his age."
She added that her client had been taking illegal highs in jail before the vandalism was carried out.
"He says he was immature at that time," added Ms Milligan. "He relies on drugs when he's in the community and also in jail it would appear on the face of it."
Sheriff Ian Anderson imposed a community payback order with 12 months of supervision.
