DELIVEROO is preparing to set up shop in Alloa over the next month or so.

The food delivery company will launch the service as the summer rolls into the Wee County.

An exact launch date is yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to be up and running within a matter of weeks.

In the meantime, they are also on the lookout for riders to deliver food from restaurants and grocery partners across the town.

The company has seen rider demand soar this year and the company now works with 50,000 riders across the UK. Many Deliveroo employees combine work with their studies.

To keep riders safe while out on the road, the company offers all riders free insurance to ensure all riders are protected. The company also offers other perks, such as free training courses for riders and their families.

Berenice Cowan, head of UK expansion for Deliveroo, said: "At last, we've arrived in Alloa! We can't wait to bring everyone great food from local and national favourites, and to help local chefs reach new customers. Hungry foodies, here we come."

Deliveroo customers have the option to schedule orders via the Deliveroo app up to one day in advance or receive food as soon as possible from independent eateries, traditional takeaways, restaurants and supermarkets.

Restaurants, takeaways and grocery retailers can also sign up to feature on the Alloa delivery list.

Those interested can apply at restaurants.deliveroo.com/en-gb to become a Deliveroo partner.
