A WOMAN sustained serious injuries following a car crash on the M876 near the Kincardine Bridge last night.
At around 5.20pm, the vehicle - a white Vauxhall Corsa - left the road before slipping down a steep embankment and hitting some trees.
The car was travelling east towards the bridge and was passing Junction 3 at Bowtrees at the time.
Emergency services attended the scene and a 52-year-old woman was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
A 45-year-old man was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Inspector Peter Houston, of Police Scotland’s Forth Valley Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing to other road users who may have witnessed the crash to get in contact with police.
“One woman has sustained serious injuries as a result of this incident and we are keen to establish the full circumstances.
“I would ask if anyone was driving in the area at the time or has possible dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation that they get in touch with officers."
Those with information can contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2340 of February 24, 2021
