A MAN who threatened his ‘on-off’ partner because he couldn’t control his anger has been placed on a Community Payback Order for 18 months.
Steven MacGregor (41) flew into a rage after he found out Jane Miller had collected his children from nursery without him.
He pled guilty to shouting, swearing and uttering threats of violence towards her at her home in Tenacres, Sauchie, on 12 November last year.
At Alloa Sheriff Court on Thursday (19 June), fiscal depute Lindsay Brooks explained that when Ms Miller arrived at home after collecting the children MacGregor “came charging in” and shouted “We need to f***ing talk”.
She said they went into the living room where MacGregor continued his aggressive tirade.
Ms Miller managed to secretly call 999 on her mobile phone hidden in her jacket pocket and operators recorded the call.
Jim Savage, defending, said MacGregor, of Queen Street, Alva, had taken steps to combat his anger issues. He said, “He accepts he has difficulties controlling his anger and when he is angry he strikes out verbally.” Sentencing him to the CPO with supervision, Sheriff David Mackie told MacGregor, “I see you’re working hard to resolve these issues and for that you have to be commended.”
