THE railings surrounding the Alloa Makers Village have been ‘craft bombed’.
The form of graffiti art – but instead of paints, yarn is used – was erected by Hannah Ford as part of a Makers Gallery and Bistro initiative to celebrate Voluntary Arts Week.
Hannah, who is the gallery’s artist in residence, also craft bombed the pillars at the entrance to Marcelle House beside the Ludgate roundabout.
Those colourful creations have since been added to by Marcelle House artist, Kelly Carruthers, and Hannah is calling anyone else to do the same. She said, “I want people to bring their own bits of crochet and stick them on the railings.
“I hope it brings people in to the gallery and bistro. There is a real buzz about the place but there are some who don’t know of the talent in their community.” Currently the Makers Gallery and Bistro is showing an exhibition about the gallery’s training programme and Reachout with Arts in Mind, which has been created by gallery trainee Maddy Wood.
