SIMPSON John Peacefully at The Orchard Care Home on Friday 6th September 2024, John (Jock), aged 82 years. Beloved son of the late Jock and Nellie, loving brother of the late Eileen, a much loved uncle of Karen, Bryan and the late Claire and a great friend to many. A funeral service will take place at Sauchie & Coalsnaughton United Free Church on Tuesday 24th September 2024 at 10:30am, thereafter to Sunnyside Cemetery, to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. So sorry to learn of Johns passing, he was a lovely gentleman, we worked together at the Alloa Advertiser. I remember the day John bought his dream car, racing green Jaguar, happy days. RIP John.

I worked with John at the Alloa Advertiser and also enjoyed training nights at Pattons with other guys that were John’s friends. He was a great guy and very popular. I was very sad to hear of his passing, I visited him two years ago while on a trip to Scotland. I don’t think he recognized me at that time and even though I explained who I was I don’t think he made the connection. I feel privileged to have been able to spend the time I did with John. My sincerest condolences to all his family.
