TWELVE artists have been nominated for the first-ever Live Act of the Year Award.
With the return of live events last summer, this is the first full year The Weekender has had to award such a prize.
Whether it has been a storming festival set, a surprising support slot or a headline show - the Scottish music scene has been on fire since last August. To not reward such displays would have been criminal.
Iain Smith, editor of The Weekender, said: "I feel I can speak for the overwhelming majority of fans when I say I was BADLY in need of live music when the doors finally opened again last year. For that, I thank every band and artist I have been able to see since then.
"In this climate, we know that most live performers give a lot more than they take from shows. We are honoured to recognise their talent and commitment this year."
The Live Act of the Year - sponsored by B12 Entertainment - was introduced for the first time in 2022.
The inaugural winner, along with the other six winners, will be announced on Wednesday, December 21.
