School pupils from Dollar Academy were evacuated off a bus yesterday just before it exploded.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 4.04pm on Tuesday, 21 November to reports of a bus on fire on Hilfoots Road, A91, Blairlogie.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene where crews extinguished the fire.
“No injuries were reported, and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
Alva Community Council posted an update last night to say that all 30 pupils and the driver managed to get out of the bus before it exploded.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received a report of a vehicle fire on the A91, between Manor Loan and the Logie Kirk roundabout, around 4.10pm on Tuesday, 21 November, 2023.
"The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service extinguished the fire and police provided traffic management.
"There were no reports of any injuries."
McGill's Buses confirmed they are investigating the incident, which occurred on their 324 service.
A spokesperson for Midland Bluebird said: "On Tuesday, November 21, passengers on board one of our buses in Stirlingshire had to leave the vehicle after a fault developed which led a fire starting within the engine area.
"All passengers were successfully evacuated and we thank those on board for following the instructions of the driver to disembark.
"We are now working to determine the exact cause of the incident."
