A CAR was burned to shreds at the weekend as it erupted into flames while driving through Sauchie.
The frightening incident took place on Park Crescent, late on Saturday night as police and fire service attended.
It is believed the driver stopped the car after noticing that smoke was beginning to billow from the bonnet.
After exiting the vehicle to investigate, the blaze took hold and the blue Peugot was soon engulfed in flames.
Emergency services were then dispatched to the scene where, luckily, nobody was injured.
A spokesman for Scottish Fire and Rescue said: “The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 11.41pm on Saturday, March 3 to reports of a vehicle on fire.
“Operations Control mobilised one fire engine to Park Crescent, Sauchie, where firefighters extinguished the fire.
“There were no casualties. Crews left the scene after ensuring the area had been made safe.”
Police Scotland confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances.
